But it’s not even a debate that we played tougher completion for the first 100+ years than the teams in the SEC or Texas.
The SEC was Kentucky & nobody which meant somebody had to be 2 and 3 (AL & TN) and rack up quite a few wins against the other deadbeats even though they were not that good themselves.
The history of the Southwest conference was Arkansas and Texas, with Houston thrown in from time to time, and no other competition.
ku, OU, OSU, ISU, ksu was a much deeper pool of competition.
When we joined the SEC, only UK, FL, and AR were even trying.
Now everybody is trying...except for maybe us.
When Martin was at Tennessee he was arguably the third best coach in the SEC.
now he is arguably the worst.
