The "gap class" OU will have this year would have meant a 4 year decline in the past. Now, if OU plays the portal right, we can replace a lot of those players with similar talents almost immediately. Players that weren't fully developed in High school but blossomed in their first season in college can be a lucrative find. This seems like a rich get richer scenario for the bluebloods of college football.

It makes me think there should be restrictions of some sort, but what? The portal seems to give players some added leverage as well.
