Except MU was never as good as the bugeaters were in football.
College basketball is also soooooo much different than it was back in the MU hey day. Doug Smith was at Mizzou four years. He'd last one, maybe two nowadays. It's extremely difficult to "build" a program when your roster has 50% turnover every year. That's why there are only a handful of consistently good teams anymore.
