The transfer portal needs to be utilized to it's fullest extent. We need talented players competing against each other and creating depth across all positions to be ready for a full SEC schedule.
This comes down to coaches correctly evaluating players currently on the roster. If we have 2 players competing but not talented enough to compete in the SEC, what is the point.
Coaches also have to develop players. Talented players that are starting to come in still need to be coached. We will start to have a little margin for error bringing in more talented players, but they have to get better as well.
Last is the culture of high level competition and next man up. I hate to compare Mizzou to Georgia because its not realistic, but Georgia had 4-5* players on defense learning and waiting their turn. The players know what is expected out of them every play. They are all held accountable by each other. It has come together for them this year on that side of the ball. It didn't happen overnight. It also takes leadership from every class to continue those expectations.
MY only issue with Rattler is if he acts like coming in to a lesser perceived program than OU, does he act like the job is just his or will he earn it? Do we have the players in place to push him?
When Kelly Bryant transferred in, we had nobody else. That turned ugly.
