demand. Thousands of workers were laid off in all facets of the industry. Oil companies need the engineers and geoscientists to ramp up production and drilling companies need the hands to man the rigs. Many of these people left the industry over the last 1.5 years. It will take some time for employment to be amped up to even bring production back up to pre covid norms.
