Had my Vol buddy I took to the game. He had the luxury of sitting there and critiquing our team and 100% of it is what I've been seeing. But then he threw out a question: "Who is #18?". Explained who he was and his response was "he's probably a virus/cancer on your defense. I've been watching him. The guy is humongous, should be tearing thru people. Instead he looks like he's just waiting for the game to be over. I wonder if others are playing down to him." There is definitely a malaise in our locker room. I don't think Wilks inspires his players, I question if Franklin inspires our players. Maybe a NFL experienced coach is great if you have a team that has a level of professionalism that is instilled in it's program but we're no where near that. We need Sam Pittman and Barry Odom types who the players want to play for, want their approval. Wilks may be a genius but these kids don't care to play for him and that's a problem. Kids no longer have to stay and wait to see if a program finds success. They have friends all over on social media.
