Disciplinary actions are one thing to monitor when determining what is actual policy and what is just public relations (i.e. "no one is more careful to protect civilians than the US military")
The supervising general should at a minimum be demoted at least one full grade.
My guess is nothing will be done beyond putting a letter in his file.
Thus the actual policy is to protect US military personnel at all costs, even if it means killing 20 innocent civilians per US serviceman saved. The really tragic thing is that I believe a solid majority of US citizens support that policy, as long as it is unstated. They want the policy but they also want the public relations spin that denies the actual policy exists.
