I'm a Vet and a Constitutional Conservative Christian. I once thought the answer was the Convention of States approach to resolve the mess that my America has become. A wise friend of mine brought to my attention that the outcome of the Convention would depend on "who" was in control of the process at the time it was performed. Can you imagine what our Constitution would look like under the present administration? I say leave it alone and Make out government conform to the original document. God Bless America and those who gave their lives for it.

You fail to comprehend what a Constitutional Convention is. It is comprised of legislatures of the 50 states. The current administration has no role, nor no authority over the process. It is initiated by the state legislatures directly. They would have the ability to directly amend the Constitution such as mandate term limits for both House members and Senators. the Repeal the 17th amendment to return Senators to being appointed by state legislatures and not elected. They could also strongly curb executive orders powers. This all could be done and become law without Congress or President having any part in it.

I agree with you, 99.9%! However, what you described is NOT a Constitutional Convention.
It IS a Convention of the States, which is allowed under Article 5 of the Constitution.
This delineation is CRUCIAL in any argument. A Constitution convention involves the Federal Governement. The Convention of the States does NOT -- it involves solely the State Legislatures, which are currently predominantly controlled by Republicans.
If all of the republican state legislators from each State put forth a representative and call a Convention of the States, this CANNOT be blocked by the Federal government as they have zero authority to do so.
It is CLEARLY written in law, and every court would be forced to uphold it.
In addition, if a Convention of the States were called by 30 republican legislatures, then the democrat legislatures would send their representatives or for fear of missing out on getting a say or resisting the process. That would enable debate, and possible compromise.
Just the realization of the power that State legislatures hold over the federal government would alone incentives them all, both dems and repubs to come together regularly to see if they could push their ideas into law through a Convention of States versus through an opposing Congress. It is a forgotten role of the checks and balances of power in the US government. Convention of States USED to be a regular occurrence where State legislatures would send representatives who were literally the mputhpiece
