The editors of approximately 220 of the worlds leading medical journals are advocating immediate action to stop global warming due to greenhouse gases by the global environmental conference schedule for later this fall in Glassglow, Scottland.
Their argument is global warming causes adverse health effects and unless it is controlled, those adverse health effects will get worse.
If you have an interest in this subject, I suggest you obtain and read (1) today's Wall Street Journal lead editorial and (2) "Unsettled" by Steven E. Koonin (former Department of Energy Undersecretary for Science in the Obama Administration). They suggest the evidece is not as convincing and the science is not as settled as some suggest and argue.
Action to control Greenhouse Gases are not cost free. A reasonable approach would look at both the benefits and the costs. It is a more reasoned approach than that of the "green houses gases are bad, there for they must be controlled no matter what the cost" approach of the medical journal editors.
