And economic threat?
In recent years, we’ve seen rapid intensification of tropical systems become more common. These kinds of systems are likely to become more common along the entire Gulf Coast and along the East Coast.
As a nation, we need to be focused on how to prepare and mitigate these disasters. We know they’re going to happen. We know they’re likely to become more common. We also know they pose a substantial risk to our economy.
