Remember Ronnie Reagan trading arms in an actual case of hostages? Remember Ron cutting bait in Beirut?
Afghanis and Americans are boarding planes everyday. Don't sound like hostages to me. Now, YES this could have and should have been done better, but end of the world it is not. Remember W being told that ObL planned to fly planes into blds in the US and W - hearing that, went on vacation within a month of 911. US leaders typically survive even very bad mistakes. And that is what this was - a very bad mistake, but getting out of Afghan was now. See you later, gotta run.
