delayed or spun every story about monica's mouthful. They knew the stories, they knew the truth. Didn't print them. Changed the subject and attacked. Covered for wild bill's indiscretions.
Ran stories about how "great men" have great sexual appetites. About how great men can compartmentalize the issues of the day and one does not affect any other. A particularly stupid bimbo from the press flying of AF1 iirc, said she would gladly give wild bill a tongue lashing for his great work in protecting abortionists.
But when the devil's blue dress was discovered and the media had no place to hide and no way to spin it, they came down hard.
