I haven't done the research, and maybe there aren't specifics out yet. But, I'd be interested in what type of specific mental health issue she is/was dealing with.

Most likely, she will deal with a tremendous amount of regret, shame, and embarrassment moving forward for bowing out. And, no matter how much appreciation she receives for dealing with her situation bravely she will carry that on her own. It will never go away. It could make any mental issues she's dealing with even stronger.
