when I lived out in SD and got paired with a couple of Japanese guys. We played the North Course.
There were four guys in front of us that were really slow and playing every shot like it was Sunday at the Masters. They knew we wanted to play through but instead of allowing that or at least saying no (which is obviously anti-golf) they just ignored us.
So these Japs just started hitting into them about the 7th hole. So they waited after they putted and these four white guys wanted to beat their asses.
They ended up having lunch at the turn so we didn't have any further incidents, but man it was annoying playing golf at such a torrid pace. They'd literally walk up to the tee box, tee up and swing with no thought about the best place to hit their tee shot. Neither were very good either and there was no pretense that the whole affair was supposed to be enjoyed and a shared experience.
