be okay with us having Kentucky *and* Vanderbilt, from a competitive standpoint.

Look at Arkansas's rivals for example. Their lineup is tough, mainly because the Hogs would insist on having their former SWC rivals (Texas and Texas A&M) and LSU as annual rivals. Oklahoma isn't essential, but it just made the most sense to pair them up. So... they wouldn't like their main recruiting rival, MU, to draw *both* of the league's cupcakes.
