1) As of today only 53% of the UK population was fully vaccinated.

2) UK relies almost exclusively on Astra Zeneka vaccine, which is less effective in general then the phizer and moderna vaccines. And may be less effective against the Delta varrient which is predominate in the UK.

So out of a population of roughly 65 million they are getting 50,000 infections a day now.
