I'd have to say Gerry with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck. Came out in 2002 or so and written and directed by Gus Van Sant.
Basically Damon and Affleck show up to some desert park to hike. They get lost and start to go nuts with Damon eventually killing Affleck, which you immediately come to learn was not far away from a major highway. Damon gets a ride and the movie ends.
Long swaths of non-dialogue (very Terrence Malik like).
I bought some M&M's and could not open the package for like an hour because there was literally no sound, just minute after minute of them in the desert roaming around and not speaking.
Movie was terrible.
