is that they are somehow leaving to protest "voter's rights". Voter's rights to what?

Essentially the main voter's right is the ability to vote for representatives THAT PARTICIPATE IN THE CREATION OF LEGISLATION AND OPERATION OF THE GOVERNMENT.

By fleeing, they are themselves refusing to participate in the creation of legislation and operation of the government.

In essence, they're depriving their own constituents - who elected them - of their right to have representation in the government.

I doubt this concept matters to the Dem representatives, however.
