God you are an ignorant little sht. It is NOT about over-consumption. If people are motivated to consume TODAY - yes it is in some homes consuming washers, dryers, AC, refrigerators - for others, the majority such purchases are more of an investment. And Greider's point is dead on.
What happens in six months ? People see the price increases of the preceding six months and purchase in the new now - again driving the economy which - in a consumption-based economy all happens in the now.
