Because people are using government to force culture.

Another reason I was more Democrat is because Democrats used to be very anti government control when it came to personal behavior. They have completely changed that. I think some of that is purely a backlash to the Christian culture, but a lot is also more about other control mechanisms.

But so much is also R vs D, and the hypocrisy of different positions (depending on who is in power).....but when something major happens, they all fall in line (war on terror, war on drugs, immigration, COVID response).
