No human is illegal. That is the most important thing.
People who are here without documentation are hard-working, freedom loving people trying to make a better life for their family. They make enormous contributions to our society. They pay taxes. What our government does and how it is ruled affects them.
At the insignificant cost of a few thousand murders, rapes, robberies and the ridiculously low cost of free education, free medication and free incarceration, America reaps the benefits of the splendid culture of our neighbors to the south.
They have a right to a say and the shaping of their own future and destiny.
Now of course, bigots, haters and racists would argue that what the United States does affects mexicans in Mexico as well. We could extend the logic of liberals to allow Mexican citizens residing in Mexico to vote. They probably have family in the United States, either legally or otherwise and the United States impacts their lives greatly. They deserve to have a say in their future.
And since it would be unfair and inhumane to ask Mexican nationals to come all the way to an American polling place just to vote, they should be allowed to vote over the Internet, on the phone, or in the mail. Of course, voting by mail could be disrupted by racist American oppressors.
We must allow anyone on earth who wants to vote in our elections to do so. It’s only fair, think of all the times you voted for political officials in Mexico and Somalia.
No human being is illegal we are told.
Raskputin himself has told us that we are all from the same place. I don’t know what that means, but it might apply here.
John Lennon told us to, “imagine there is no country…”
Countries are social constructs. Or is it races that are social constructs? No, sexes are social constructs.
I’m getting confused.
