Los Angeles County health officials have “strongly” recommended everyone wear masks indoors in public places, as the highly contagious Delta variant continues to spread.
The county Department of Public Health is urging everyone, regardless of whether they’ve been vaccinated, to wear masks inside places like grocery and retail stores, theaters, and other settings where the vaccination status of others isn’t known.
“Until we better understand how and to who the `Delta' variant is spreading, everyone should focus on maximum protection with minimum interruption to routine as all businesses operate without other restrictions like physical distancing and capacity limits,” the agency said in a statement.
The warning comes after the World Health Organization urged even fully vaccinated people to continue wearing masks to curb the spread of the Delta variant.
