Dumb liberals in 1965 felt bad about Jim Crow laws.

They hated what was going on in the Viet Nam war.
By 1971 they were listening to Imagine by John Lennon and very much wanting to 'stick it to the man'.
Republicans wore suits, worshipped money and were a clear example of out-of-control capitalism destroying the Earth.
Liberalism meant equality where racism was truly present.
Responsibility where the destruction of the Earth was really happening.
Safety nets where the down, downtrodden and congenitally unlucky truly did face the abyss.
But communism was opposed. The craven evil at the heart of Chinese and Russian regimes were unilaterally opposed.
Liberals in 1971 had a case to make for change, an avenue through the most excellently founded country in the history of the world, and a consensus that afforded them the chance to make some of those changes.
But next to none of those liberals from that era would support or even understand the current radical & revolutionary group seeking to destroy the United States of America once and for all under the same moniker.
Gender Dysphoria is mental illness.
Abortion in most cases is murder, but post-birth abortion is mental illness or satanism or both.
Defunding the police is suicide, even if that means subverting the funds to 'social workers' for a 'softer kinder response'. That's murder of social workers and suicide for citizens involved in the incidents 'handled' by 'the new police'.
Suppressing ANY viewpoints on social media is FASCISM. Social media companies are 'private companies' just like NBC, CBS & ABC. Just like The New York Times and The Washington Post. That a government created and funded internet is somehow different from licensed air waves or case law regarding what newspapers can and cannot print is pure myth - all are mediums for expression and the first amendment applies.
The programs, policies and ideas of the 1971 liberal may well have been foolish and destined to fail, but at least they were well-intentioned.
Safespaces, cancel culture, gender mutilation & ANTIFA/BLM led terrorism is not well-intentioned.
Those behind the Covid Act of Terror are not well-intentioned.
Those pushing Critical Race Theory are not trying to create a better world.
And yet the 1971 liberal rages on, taking a platform on their backs that is beyond bizarre in every respect.
What has made this transition possible?
How did we get here?
The truth is that our loss of 'free speech' stretches back to the beginning of the media, the use of the media to establish, shape and control the narrative and the lack of multiple, independent viewpoints supported on those media.
The American people wanted to clique up. They wanted
consensus. They deeply desired an 'US' that would establish 'reality' and crush detractors.
We're now seeing the very dangerous ramifications of that desire for approval from our fellows.
A material portion of the country, with the official, golden mouthpiece of the MSM on their side, with the government bureaucrats on their side, with most of the court system on their side, have co-opted the values of Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness and perverted them to HATE FOR WHITENESS, MEDICAL TYRANNY & HYPER-PARTISAN ATTACKS on all who stand for traditional values.
The Evil are strutting about virtue signaling that they are the good. And the good are rotting in jails for exercising their rights under the constitution.
As a LIBERAL, take stock in the coming months: is the damage being done worth the cause?
Is the exotic potpourri of bizarre and unnecessary 'causes' that now masquerade as 'liberalism' worth the destruction of the United States of America?
For those still able to wriggle out of the grasp of evil, and back into the fold of the sane, the answer is obvious.
