Yes, if civilization could survive it, the population remaining from that free for all may well be spiritual masters and we as a population might experience heaven on the Earth.
OR
We could end up right back in Genghis Kahn style dark ages.
Whichever you think is more likely determines your take on many things.
It's not really about whether man is basically bad or good, it's about maturity and the ability to handle the tiny percentage that go really really bad.
