Fauci does not control what other countries do.
Many other countries have implemented even stricter lock down measures.
This makes the whole "its Fauci's fault" narrative difficult to believe.
Two of the essentials in any politician's tool kit are (1) taking credit for good things that you don't deserve any credit for; and (2) deflecting blame for bad things that you cause to happen.
By far the most plausible explanation for the disimination of the "its Facui's fault" meme is that it is the GOP attempting to deflect blame from Trump. Hence its popularity with hyper partisan republicans.
