is the author speaking..not here...the paragraph I chose were here quotes...not someone else's characterization of her.

Here point is that many times standards are trash...they take away the thought of an individual into a collective that everyone must fit a certain criteria to get in the club.

Given that is how you think as well, I am not surprised you do not understand this.
