here but it seems to me it would be logical to wait on something like this until more people have been vaccinated, and to see what happens to the spread after certain thresholds have been reached in vaccinations.

Over a third of Americans are fully vaccinated and spread is dropping to some of its lowest numbers. Makes sense with those two things being true to go ahead and pull the trigger on removing mask mandates, rather than doing so before a sufficient number had been vaccinated.
