And I in no way would support much of the crap the Dems spout forth. They make more laws and regulations the force the cops to be put into many of these situations.
Outside of Pickle's idea of disbanding police in return for a private security force, I would do the following
1. Eliminate all laws where there is no direct victim (drugs, traffic violations, loitering, jaywalking, firearms possession, prostitution, etc.)
2. Take away special privileges for cops, and hold them to the same standards we are held at when it comes to both initiation of force and self defense
3. Any investigations/trials of police are done by a complete separate party. Not the police, not the prosecutors, not the current judges (all of whom work with the police on a regular basis).
That way, the police can actually focus their times on true crime and security. So when they are now intervening in crimes, it is a true crime, and use of force will be fine as part of defense of the victim.
Is my system perfect and fully thought out..not at all...but I do believe over time, the police/security force will be a force that is about defending rights and protection, rather than enforcing State crimes and revenue collection for the State.
