I feel like the QBs that come from lower-end teams

are the better bet to become elite.
Programs where the QB really has to learn to play at an elite level against superior athletes to raise the level of his entire offense.
We haven't seen a ton of elite QBs in recent decades coming from the powerhouse teams, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, USC, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma.
The few guys that make it out of those programs as high NFL draft picks often struggle in the NFL because all of a sudden they aren't leading an offense where every single player on their side of the ball is a superior athlete vs the opposition.
Give me a Drew Brees from Purdue, or Mahomes from Texas Tech, or Aaron Rogers from Cal all day long over some guy from Ohio St or Alabama. Winning with Bama/OhioSt proves nothing for a QB. Their 3rd string QBs could take those teams to 10-2 seasons.
I'm much more impressed with a QB that gets Purdue to a Rose Bowl, or takes any perennial mediocre team to new heights.
