about 400 acres. That is a very small operation in terms of commodity agriculture here in the western corn belt. It is not sustainable as an economic unit. Better have an adequate off farm job to support family living expenses. IMO, you must be farming in the neighborhood of 1500 to 200 acres of row crop to support the cost of land, machinery, crop inputs and living expenses.
