I wholly reject this premise of life being the forces of good and the force of evil. I have long viewed that paradigm as bordering on the adolescent.
To "sin" is to miss the mark. Key seems to be to hold yourself to account for that and aspire every day in every way to get closer to that mark. I think it is in the Nicene Creed that you find the line "Praise God always and everywhere". God bless the Catholics for that one.
