they have the choice of 3 ways to vote each with it's own voting days but that isn't suppressing votes, that makes it easier to vote. All of them are an improvement over 2016. In fed elections you can actually vote up to 11 days AFTER election day
"988 (4) In extraordinary circumstances as described in Code Section 21-2-543.1, the registrar
989 or absentee ballot clerk shall determine if the applicants are eligible to vote under this
990 Code section and shall either mail or issue the absentee ballots for the election for
991 representative in the United States Congress to an individual entitled to make application
992 for absentee ballot under subsection (d) of this Code section the same day any such
993 application is received, so long as the application is received by 3:00 P.M., otherwise no
994 later than the next business day following receipt of the application. Any valid absentee
995 ballot shall be accepted and processed so long as the ballot is received by the registrar or
996 absentee ballot clerk not later than 45 days after the ballot is transmitted to the absent
997 uniformed services voter or overseas voter, but in no event later than 11 days following
998 the date of the election."
A COVID voting year had special circumstances. Those aren't needed any longer and tightening them down is not suppression.
The mail in changes are logic driven. 180 days prior to Nov 4 was May 4. We had no nominees at that time. The 11 days is logical as well. Wanting to have all the mail in votes counted with the votes cast on voting day is the right thing to do. Waiting a week for the last ones to dribble in caused havoc in the last election. Not Suppression.
TO vote you show ID, so why not require ID to pick up a mail-in ballot? You CAN designate a person on the ballot that is helping you complete the ballot and that person can pick up your ballot. If you don't have ID, the law allows for that and you legal vote will count.
"If such elector does not have a
894 Georgia driver's license or identification card issued pursuant to Article 5 of Chapter 5
895 of Title 40, the elector shall affirm this fact in the manner prescribed in the application
896 and the elector shall provide a copy of a form of identification listed in subsection (c)
897 of Code Section 21-2-417."
"If such elector does not have any of the forms of identification listed in this subsection, such elector may vote a provisional ballot pursuant to Code Section 21-2-418 upon swearing or affirming that the elector is the person identified in the elector's voter certificate. Such provisional ballot shall only be counted if the registrars are able to verify current and valid identification of the elector as provided in this subsection within the time period for verifying provisional ballots..."
So, requiring you to REQUEST a ballot is suppressing your vote? That make no sense. ANd saves tax-payer dollars.
No need for mobile voting centers. Precincts with over 2000 voters are REQUIRED to have enough booths to limit line standing to 1 hr or less. You CAN set up a location in any church or school. Again this doesn't suppress the vote.
"if electors desiring to vote on the day of the election had to wait in line for more than one
723 hour before checking in to vote, the superintendent shall either reduce the size of such
724 precinct so that it shall contain not more than 2,000 electors in accordance with the
725 procedures prescribed by this chapter for the division, alteration, and consolidation of
726 precincts no later than 60 days before the next general election or provide additional voting
727 equipment or poll workers, or both, before the next general election."
Drop boxes - there will be as many drop boxes as there are early voting locations - requires 1 in each early voting location. Yes it must be inside the building, but why would you want it outside to be stolen?
"boxes totaling the lesser of either one drop box for every
1121 100,000 active registered voters in the county or the number of advance voting locations
1122 in the county."
from your article - "The bill makes it a misdemeanor to distribute food or water “within 25 feet of any voter standing in line to vote at any polling place,”
WRONG!!! - LIE!!! You can't GIVE food or water. If a voter wants to order food delivered - they can. You realise the water bottles they were giving away in the last election had candidates pictures / names / information on them. They just closed that loop hole.
"...nor shall any person give, offer to give,
1814 or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and
1815 drink, to an elector, nor shall any person solicit signatures for any petition..."
Do some digging JG - quit passing on the media propaganda.
