While NCAA rules limit the number of coaches, they don’t limit the number of recruiters. Well funded programs currently employ lots of analysts to do a lot of things coaches have traditionally done, I.e. analyze game film, analyze potential recruits, etc. The future may hold 15-20 recruiting analysts per big time programs. Half recruit full time and half do the grunt work for assistant coaches so the coaches can spend more time recruiting.
