She meant to pull the trigger, that was no mistake. She meant to pull her taser, not her sidearm. That was the mistake.

The pertinent question is why was an officer who was so fearful that she could not tell her sidearm from her taser out on the streets?

Not every person is cut out for every job. I would not trade places with a street cop for anything. People who cannot handle the stresses of a job should not be doing those jobs.

Most of us have jobs where our biggest mistake may cost the company some money. Some people have jobs where their biggest mistake may cost lives.
