By the idea of having 2 6-6 guys who can play the point (Coleman & Kaleb Brown) along with lightning quick 6-0 A. Brookshire.
We have 2 wings who are tough as nails: Pickett & Gordon, who play D, rebound and look to go to the rim.
Start either Yaya or Wilmore and see if Brazile truly is a 6-8 shot blocker, and between the 3 you have one inside guy to go with the 4 interchangeables.
Kobe Brown at the 4 is the obvious other starter.
You bring A. Davis and Durugordon off the bench for offense.
I'm interested in all of the possible combinations.
If Durugordon being on campus since January makes him a true threat, could go with:
6-7: K. Brown
6-7: S. Durugordon
6-5: J. Pickett
6-4: D. Gordon
6-6: J. Coleman
If Davis is a true SEC caliber scorer, could start him and bring in D. Gordon as your high energy 6th man, adding more offensive punch.
If you wanna go big:
7-3: J. Wilmore
6-7: K. Brown
6-7: S. Durugordon
6-6: J. Coleman
6-5: J. Pickett
HCCM can really mix and match. Heck this bunch has nothing to lose, and if we saw anything in the tournie, it's that teams that play high energy defense 100% of the time can stay with pretty much anyone.
We have those guys in Pickett & Gordon and probably a healthy Yaya to set the pace. I read up on Kaleb Brown, and he is a 6-6 PG that takes pride in D & passing....good signs. Kobe Brown also proved to be a solid rebounder & defender. If these guys set the standard, there's alot of upside with Brazile, Wilmore, Brookshire, A. Davis, Durugordon and Coleman.
We all might be pleasantly surprised with this group in how they look from November until March of a normalized season.
