country for several years but still had a Missouri driver's license, absentee voted in Missouri, owned a house that I rented out, owned vehicles registered in Missouri.

the state got me on the domicile part...a place I INTENDED to return. I paid other taxes (real estate/property etc) but didn't know I would need to pay income tax on the money I earned in another country. blah
