with P5 experience and limited success. Two players with mid-major success but serious questions about their ability to do it at the next level. Five unheralded freshmen recruits.
Do you really believe those last two roster spots are going to be guys who were successful at the P5 level last season? At best, those last two spots will be filled by guys who are a crapshoot to be productive SEC players.
Everyone is talking about the importance of transfers and how successful they were in the tourney this season. Transfers work very well in two scenarios. The first is if you have a seasoned team that has some holes to fill. In that case, successful mid-majors like the ones we picked up can be used as plug-and-play pieces. The other successful transfers are those that went to a high-major program and found themselves stuck in the roster rotation. They can often go to another P5 program that is a better fit and have an instant impact.
We are hoping to rebuild our roster with type two transfers but actually doing it with type one talent.
