You are missing your #3 and #4 hitters with Day and McDaniel out. McNamara won the second base job in the fall and he is just now getting back. Keefer isn't anywhere near 100% but wants to play.
Then on the pitching side, your likely #2 starter (Konnor Ash) is just now returning and with a pitch limit. Trey Dillard would have been the closer.
You can say the injuries are an excuse and it's Bieser's fault for not having quality depth. And that is probably fair. Some of the freshmen will hopefully step up soon. I am pretty impressed with Wilmsmeyer and maybe that hit late in the game will get Austin going.
