I'd like a 14 team playoff; top 2 getting first round byes

YOu would then go:
3 versus 14
4 versus 13
5 versus 12
6 versus 11
7 versus 10
8 versus 9
All on the home campuses of the higher seeds.
This would reward the top two schools that finish 1 - 2; and also avoids a 1 versus 14 and 2 versus 13 scenario - which would most probably result in blowouts.
You then take the 6 winners along with the top 2 seeds - reseed the 8 teams - and set up your 8 team playoff.
You would have an Elite 8 (4 bowl games); Final 4 (2 bowl games) and a National Title Game.
Maybe give the Power 5 automatic berths and the other 9 positions based on rankings.
Opens the door for Cinderellas - makes all of the post season tournaments meaningful. An exciting end to the college football season utilizing the bowls after the first weekend of competition.
