As soon as they can no longer stomach being passed up by A&M and being associated with a bunch of crap schools they will find a new home. That will result in only 4 major conferences, split into divisions. Effectively that makes an 8 team playoff with the first round being conference championship games.

Texas is the one holding everything up with this notion that there are actually 5 major conferences.
