rationale is almost exclusively a white dude on psychiatric
drugs (or coming off) thing.
Blacks generally commit mass murders when they think they are trying to commit a specific murder but really don't care who gets in the way.
Thats why motive, while useful in solving a crime, is useless in punishing it. (IE "hate crimes" are just retarded-though I certainly agree they happen.
