schools as a way to redistribute money to their base. As long as their supporters continue to get their money school being in session is optional.

The GOP may favor options to public education but I don't think you will find many that want them gone. Most Americans believe that if they are paying for a service then they should be receiving that service. My daughter has been in class less than 20 days this school year but I am still paying 100% of my property tax levy.
