When your message is the one being supressed it is easy to be for free speech. The test comes when you control the message, do you still encourage others to speak against you?
If so you have principles as well as a stong belief in your system.
You only stifle others speech if you are afraid of their message. I have always believed that the best way to reduce racism is to let racist freely speak. Racism is based on ignorance and fear, if you let racist speak this becomes obvious. When you try to stop racist from speaking they become the forbidden fruit and many are drawn to it simply because they were told not to listen.
