As avid Tigerboard readers know, I have recounted over the last couple years the top Missouri high school prospects per Rivals.com in both football and basketball. Today, we will examine the top ten Missouri basketball prospects from the high school class of 2014. This is probably the weakest class I have reviewed in either sport. Only one four-star, two three-stars, and a lot of low-level guys, some of whom excelled to a small degree in obscurity. The 2014 top ten in basketball:

1. Jordan Barnett 6-7 SF St. Louis (CBC)

Four-star, number 70 recruit nationally, never initially considered Mizzou and signed with Texas over Florida, Colorado, Iowa and Butler. Played sparingly as a freshman for the Longhorns, with 1.9 ppg and 1.3 ppg in 21 games. Remained a reserve the first semester of his second season with 3.3 ppg and 2.0 rpg before transferring to Missouri. Became eligible mid-season his junior year and was a solid starter for the Tigers. 12.2 ppg and 5.7 rpg as a junior and 13.7 ppg and 5.9 rpg as a senior (honorable mention All-SEC.). Sadly, his Mizzou swan song was an arrest for DWI and being suspended for the NCAA Tournament loss against Florida St.

Signed a free agent contract with the Milwaukee Bucks prior to the 2018 season but failed to make the roster. Spent a year in the G-League with the Wisconsin Herd and Fort Wayne Mad Ants, and has spent the last two years playing pro ball in Germany.

2. Chris Hendrix 6-5 SF Willard (H.S.)

Three-star recruit chose to stay close to home at Missouri St. over K-State and Tulsa. Emerged as a starter late in his freshman season for the Bears with 6.3 ppg and 3.7 rpg. Contributed 12.1 ppg and 4.8 rpg as a starter his sophomore season, then regressed to 5.4 ppg and 2.8 rpg as a junior coming off the bench. Transferred to Division II Minnesota St.-Mankato for his final season of eligibility and posted 12.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg. Has bounced around in Luxembourg and Serbia as a low-level pro.

3. Austin Gillmann. 6-11 C Oakville (H.S.)

Three-star, gangly big man picked SLU over Wichita St. Averaged 3.5 ppg and 2.0 rpg his first two years for the Billikens, then barely played his junior season. Opted to forego his final season of eligibilty to concentrate on graduation.

4. Josh Robinson 6-2 SG St. Louis (St. Mary Country Day)

Two-star shooter signed with Austin Peay and became a feature player for the Governors. Posted 9.9 ppg and 1.7 rpg as a freshman, then earned second team All-Ohio Valley his second season with 16.9 ppg and 3.1 rpg. First team all Ohio-Valley as a junior with 20.3 ppg and 3.0 rpg. Arrested on drug charges and dismissed from team immediately after that season, he declared for the 2017 NBA Draft and was not selected. Spent a year playing in the Czech Republic.

5. Rashad Lindsey 5-10 PG St. Louis (St. Mary Country Day)

Robinson’s backcourt mate at St. Mary, the two-star recruit failed to qualify out of high school and went to Moberly Area (MO) CC. Started both seasons at point guard for the Greyhounds with combined totals of 12 ppg and 4 apg. Signed with Arkansas St. out of JuCo and served as the Red Wolves starting point guard for two season with combined totals of 10 ppg and 3 apg.

6. Chris Clark 6-2 SG Columbia (Hickman)

Two-star guard committed to Austin Peay, failed to qualify academically, and headed to Moberly Area (MO) CC to join Lindsey in the Greyhounds backcourt for two seasons with a combined 8 ppg and 4 rpg. Signed with NAIA semi-power New Mexico Highlands for his junior season and contributed 7 ppg. Transferred to Division II Pittsburgh St. (KS) for his final season but left school prior to playing any games.

7. Cornell Johnston 5-6 PG Ladue (Horton Watkins)

Two-star recruit committed to Eastern Illiinois and emerged as the Panthers’ diminutive starting point guard for three seasons. Named Ohio-Valley Freshman of the Year with 9.1 ppg and 4.7 apg, he followed up with combined totals of 11 ppg and 5 apg as a sophomore and junior. Sat out the 17-18 season with a knee injury, then appeared in only two games the next season before medically retiring. Legally changed his name to Terrell Lewis for some reason during his redshirt year.

8. Chaz Glotta 6-1 SG O’Fallon (Fort Zumwalt North)

Unrated guard signed with Southern Illinois and played sparingly for the Salukis his freshman year with 2.3 ppg. Transferred to Northern Colorado and, after sitting out a season, became the Bears’ sixth man, contributing 11.0 ppg and 5.7 rpg. Struggled with injuries as a junior, then had 12.3 ppg and 3.4 rpg his final season as a starter and team captain.

9. Robin Thompson 6-6 SF St. Louis (St. Mary Country Day)

The third St. Mary recruit on this list, unrated swing committed to Missouri St. Buried on the bench for two seasons with the Bears, scoring a total of 22 points in mop-up time, he transferred to Division II Maryville in St. Louis for his final two seasons, where he became a starter, with a combined 12 ppg and 5 rpg.

10. Charlie Brown 6-0 PG Joplin (H.S.)

Unrated point signed with Division II Missouri Southern. Became the Lions’ starting point guard and best player as a sophomore with 14.6 ppg and 2.2 apg. Transferred to Division II Minnesota St.-Mankato for his final two years and was an all-conference performer as a senior with 16.8 ppg and 3.9 apg. Played briefly as a pro in Germany.
