If a guy has 4 fouls before half, there is a 99% chance he'll foul out in the first 5-ish minutes of the second half. You can't let a guy get the extra fouls in the first half. Or early second half.
You MUST sit him. THEN you must see what happens.
If you hang in the game, you continue to wait so that you are more assured of having him at crunch time.
IF you start getting left behind, then you bring him back to try to stem the tide and hope he doesn't foul out.
It's very simple and 99% of coach's follow this exact plan.....FOR A REASON.
It's called crunch time for a reason.
