But ditch the local districts too and privatize the whole thing. Existing funding from state and local sources should be used for scholarships to private schools, which would require a change in the local collection of revenue for most districts to be replaced by a statewide tax.

Parents select the schools they want to send their kids too. If it costs more than the state scholarship, they pay the difference.

End all federal funding and involvement in primary and secondary education. Period. Just end it. It does not need to be replaced with anything. No one will even notice it is gone.
