does not make 90% of the protest peaceful though.

Once the protest started turning violent then the peaceful protesters became part of the problem. If the peaceful protesters are being used as a screen for the violent protesters and they know this then they are complicit in the violence.

In many cases, the daytime protesters were completely peaceful but as darkness fell the violent protesters showed up and took over. Those peaceful daytime protesters who stuck around now became part of a violent protest.
