They can be expelled by their own, not impeached (No Senate Trial).
No Senator has been expelled from office since the Civil War (and only one was expelled prior to the Civil War)
Only 2 Congressmen have been expelled since the Civil War, and both of them were expelled after being convicted of federal crimes (Mike Myers and Jim Traficant)
