presidency would push some bigger numbers into at least a state of skepticism if not outright disdain for gvmt.
They watched gvmt protect gvmt from a perceived threat (real or imagined) to their order, their paradigm. Trump was no gvmt breaker, but his cult of personality splintered out a LOT of folks from the traditional Pub base.
Maybe not to the direction desired, but away from the status quo, and to me, that's a start.
