in ROTC lived in Chicago. He apparently had a pretty tough life but seemed to have turned things around. He lost 300 lbs and was getting straight A's and was doing very well in ROTC.

After Christmas break he came back from Chicago and on his ride from the airport a couple of young punks came up and shot and killed him. It was apparently part of a gang initiation, they had to go out and kill someone.
